1. Introduction

Arch-Bangla (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the FARcalc mobile application (“App”).

FARcalc is an independent calculation tool designed for architects, urban planners, civil engineers, real estate developers, students, and property owners. The App provides preliminary calculations related to Floor Area Ratio (FAR), ground coverage, built-up area, development feasibility, and related planning parameters.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the information you provide while using FARcalc.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it is stored and protected, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, FARcalc may collect or process the following information:

A. Account and Authentication Information

When you create an account or sign in, we may collect:

  • Email address.
  • Firebase authentication user ID (UID).
  • Authentication credentials or authentication tokens, as processed by Firebase Authentication.
  • Basic account information, such as your display name, if you provide it or use a sign-in provider that shares it.

We use this information to create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide account-based features.

We do not store your plain-text password in our own application database. Authentication information is processed by Firebase Authentication.

B. Calculation Inputs and History

When you use the calculation and History features, we may collect and store information that you choose to enter or save, such as:

  • Plot or land area and dimensions.
  • Road width, plot category, occupancy type, and applicable planning parameters.
  • FAR, ground coverage, built-up area, and other calculation inputs and results.
  • Project names or descriptions, if entered by you.
  • Saved calculation records and timestamps associated with your account.

This information is used to generate calculations and allow you to access your saved calculation History across supported sessions or devices.

Please avoid entering unnecessary personal, confidential, or sensitive information into project names or calculation fields.

C. Technical and Diagnostic Information

Our infrastructure and integrated software development kits (SDKs), including Firebase services, may process certain technical information necessary to operate and secure the App. Depending on the Firebase services and configuration used, this may include:

  • Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, and app or SDK version.
  • IP address and user-agent information processed by Firebase Authentication for authentication security and abuse prevention.
  • Firebase installation or app-instance identifiers, authentication tokens, and related technical information, where applicable.
  • Diagnostic, crash, or performance information, if the corresponding services are enabled.

We do not intentionally collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or SMS data for FARcalc’s core calculation and History features.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

  • To create, authenticate, and manage user accounts.
  • To provide FAR, ground coverage, built-up area, and related calculations.
  • To save, retrieve, and synchronize calculation History associated with your account.
  • To maintain the security and reliability of the App.
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate technical errors, unauthorized access, and abuse.
  • To respond to support requests and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not use your saved calculation History for advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage and Third-Party Services

FARcalc uses Google Firebase services to support account authentication and, where enabled, cloud storage of calculation History.

Depending on the features implemented, these services may include:

Firebase Authentication: Used to authenticate users and manage account credentials and identifiers.

Cloud Firestore or Firebase Realtime Database: Used to store and retrieve saved calculation History and related account-associated information, if configured for the App.

Firebase is provided by Google. Information processed by Firebase is subject to Google’s applicable privacy and security practices.

Firebase may process information through its service providers and subprocessors to provide, maintain, secure, and support its services.

We do not authorize the sale of your personal information by us. We do not share your saved calculation records with other users for advertising or marketing purposes.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through FARcalc.

These measures may include:

  • Using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for data transmission where supported by the relevant services.
  • Applying Firebase Authentication and appropriate database access controls.
  • Restricting access to account-associated calculation records.
  • Using appropriate authentication and authorization rules to prevent unauthorized access.

Users are responsible for keeping their account credentials and devices secure.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account information and saved calculation History for as long as necessary to provide the App’s account-based services, maintain security, and meet applicable legal obligations.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your FARcalc account and associated personal data.

When an account deletion request is completed, we will delete or arrange the deletion of the account information and associated calculation History held by us, subject to any limited retention required by law or legitimate security obligations.

Data held by Firebase is handled through the relevant Firebase deletion mechanisms and applicable Google retention practices. Certain information may remain temporarily in backups or security logs for a limited period, as permitted by applicable requirements.

Please include the email address associated with your FARcalc account so that we can identify your account and process your request.

Uninstalling FARcalc does not automatically delete your account or cloud-stored History.

7. User Rights and Choices

Depending on applicable law and the features available in the App, you may:

  • Access and review your saved calculation History.
  • Update account information where supported.
  • Sign out of your account.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Contact us with questions about your personal information.

You may continue to use any calculation features that are available without signing in. However, account-based History and synchronization features may require an account.

8. Children’s Privacy

FARcalc is intended for general professional, educational, and personal use. It is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization where required by law.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review and take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App, Firebase services, legal requirements, or our data handling practices.

Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
